Christian EMDR Intensive Therapy

Go From Overwhelmed to Abundant Life

EMDR counseling

If you feel like a mess, and it’s going to take forever to get better, intensive therapy might just be the kickstart you need to feel better.

Regardless of whether you’re struggling with intrusive memories, anxiety, OCD, or relationship issues,

There is hope and help that doesn’t require waiting for

weeks and months of therapy to see results.

What could you do in one day?

What’s Different About Intensive Therapy?

We are able to get to the root of your issues instead of staying surface level like talking about what stressed you out this week. Intensive therapy allows you to achieve more progress in less time.

Processing trauma with EMDR doesn’t require time in between sessions. In a longer session, you are able to give your brain the time and space to loosen what is physiologically and emotionally stuck.

How are intensives structured?

The day runs from 9:00am-4:00pm. We meet for 3 hours in the morning, have an hour lunch break, and meet for 3 hours in the afternoon. Some people chose to come for only one day while those traveling outside the state of TN typically come for 3 days for a more therapy retreat-like experience.

Your therapy intensive will be tailored to you. Whether you are trying to heal from childhood trauma, process a recent traumatic event, or learn skills to get out of OCD rituals, we will develop a plan based on your goals. You will have the full freedom to integrate therapy with your Christian beliefs, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you through the process.

How do I know if an intensive is right for me?

The first step is to schedule a 50 minute paid consultation. I will send you a variety of paperwork to fill out, which will guide our conversation in developing a customized plan for your EMDR intensive experience. I don’t take on anyone that I do not think would be appropriate for this type of experience. If you are a good fit, I will let you know how many days I believe would be necessary to accomplish your goals. Clients who are only wanting to reprocess 1-3 specific memories with EMDR often only need one day while clients with more in depth trauma histories or relationship issues benefit from longer intensive experiences.

“The future lies in intensive treatments, especially for complex PTSD and comorbid conditions. Traditional treatment durations of 1.5 years are no longer necessary. We can achieve significant results in a matter of days or weeks. This approach not only reduces the overall treatment duration but also improves accessibility and outcomes for patients. The future of trauma treatment lies in these intensive, focused interventions, which can significantly enhance recovery rates and reduce healthcare costs.” -An Interview With Ad de Jongh, Journal of EMDR Practice and Research Vol 18 Issue 4, Dec 2024

What are people saying about EMDR intensive therapy?

“I tried talk therapy, and it didn’t help. EMDR is a good method of getting out of your head and into your emotions. It was helpful not to have time constraints. I couldn’t have done this in a 50 minute session.”- Complex trauma survivor

“My brain needed the space to move at it’s own pace. This was self-care for me.” – Client who worked through a phobia

“If you’re willing to be totally open and vulnerable, do it. You have to be at a place where you want the healing. It’s intense for a reason. You gotta dig deep.” Trauma abuse survivor
