Calm the inner chaos

YOU CAN

calm the inner chaos

WITHOUT COMPROMISING YOUR FAITH.

Life is busy, isn’t it? Whether you’re an overwhelmed business professional or an overwhelmed stay-at-home mom, it’s hard to carve out time for your own mental health. Someone always needs something from you, and the constant depletion has caught up with you. You may feel anxious, disconnected, discouraged, or angry more than you care to admit. Trying to problem solve leads down a rabbit hole of overthinking. It’s paralyzing.

You might be in therapy or have tried therapy before. Talking about your problems has helped some and you may have tried a few new strategies, but maybe you’re looking for something different or more. Have you ever considered a therapy retreat?

To get different results, we often have to do something differently and this includes how we approach counseling. I’ve quit providing weekly therapy in order to focus on the deeper, more transformational experience of EMDR intensive therapy. I find my clients have an easier time setting aside 1-3 days to focus on their own healing instead of 1 hour a week. You can hear more about that decision on a podcast episode I recorded here.

Carrie Bock, LPC-MHSP

Hi! I am a Christ-follower, wife, mother, and Licensed Professional Counselor. I help Christians calm the inner chaos without compromising their faith. I believe we are shaped by our life experiences, especially the childhood influences of caregivers who molded our beliefs about ourselves, the world, and God. Since no parents are perfect, we often are left with some sense of unmet needs. We try a variety of things (healthy and unhealthy) in adulthood to get these needs met.

Whether you identify your childhood as positive or negative, we’ve all experienced profound difficulties somewhere along the way that have affected our relationship with God, others, and ourselves. These experiences can get stuck in the nervous system. Clearing them out with EMDR can be profoundly helpful, aligning what we know to be true with how we feel and how our bodies feel. We no longer have to be defined by our past experiences or lies that have been spoken over us. We can walk in the free, abundant life that God has called us to.

Are you ready to get unstuck?
